Meeting Information

Where and When

Meetings are held the second Monday of each month at 7:00pm in the Social Hall of the Church of Our Saviour, 471 Crosby Street in Akron, Ohio.

Meetings are casual and there are no dues.

All members are cautioned that who they see at our meetings and what is said at our meetings is not to be discussed outside of the meetings.

In July and December, we may meet at the home of a participant or another location so we can enjoy an outside summer meeting or a holiday celebration.

(Contact Us below to request information on the  July/December meetings)

There is no meeting in August.

What Happens

Meetings begin at 7:00pm with a potluck dinner. You can bring a dish to share, but it's OK if you can't, we always have plenty to go around. Some beverages are provided, but you are welcome to bring your own non-alcoholic beverages as well.

The discussion begins at approximately 7:45 pm and lasts until about 9:00pm. You can participate if you wish or just listen to what others have to say. Jokes are welcome and encouraged at all times.

We encourage attendees to make a small donation at each meeting to help cover the costs of plates, cups and other service items for the meal. This donation typically ranges from $1 to $5 per person.

Who Attends

Our meeting participants come from all over Northeast Ohio and Western Pennsylvania. Being "out" is not a prerequisite to attend our meetings; in fact, many of our members are closeted.

Members represent all ages, jobs, backgrounds and stages of life -- including young men with newborns to older men with grandchildren ... and some participants have no children at all. Some men are married or separated or divorced.

In short, you're sure to meet someone who is either going through or has been through your current challenge who can offer advice or a sympathetic ear.
