Martha
Martha and her siblings lost their mother during the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020. Their father was left alone with four children – the twins Martha and Majorine, Mackline, and Marvin. Without a job and without means, their father resorted to stealing to feed the children, which often led to him being imprisoned.
In November 2022, on a friend's advice, he sent the children to Mukono to live with a certain caregiver. However, what was supposed to be a refuge turned into another nightmare. The children were hungry and neglected. When Martha, tried to take some sugar to ease her hunger, the caregiver's daughter brutally punished her by burning her hands with a melted plastic bag. The case was reported to the police and became a national issue when it was covered by the media.
When the siblings were taken to the police, their condition was critical – they suffered from severe malnutrition, were emaciated, pale, and emotionally broken. After intervention by social workers from the Mukono district, the children were placed in the care of Good Future and Hope. The children's father showed up when he heard what had happened, but when reminded of his responsibilities, he disappeared and changed his phone number.
Martha has already endured a lot of pain, and she needs someone to provide her with love, stability, and safety. By sponsoring her, you can change her life and give her the future he deserves.
