Mercy

Mercy's story is one of uncertainty and fear.

She was found sleeping with her father near a railway track in Jinja when they were discovered by a police patrol. The father claimed to be homeless, but the little girl stated that her mother had been killed by her father in the Mukono area. When both were taken to the police station in Mukono, the case was registered, and further investigation revealed that it was not possible to confirm whether the mother was alive.

Mercy was entrusted to the care of Good Future and Hope to provide her protection while the investigation continues. When the organization tried to find out if the child could stay with relatives, they discovered that the father had been released without any clear details about his home or contact information. Since then, he has not shown up at the police station.
